We were not in Africa over the weekend. We were at the Sarasota Chalk Festival in downtown Sarasota where artists from all over the world displayed their artistic abilities by designing circus drawings (this years theme) on the pavement.  The elephants were there to add ambiance.

Marcella Gilliland Has a Beautiful View From the Bus

Even though we had a very long bus ride back to Sarasota from Pulaski, Tennessee we had some very beautiful views along the way.  The two pictures above are examples of some of them. The leaves were changing and almost in ful color.  It was an awesome trip.

Marcella Gilliland won this beautiful gold cart at a fund raiser last week for abused children. The entire family is having a lot of fun with it.

Marcella Gilliland Loves Cheese

Marcella Gilliland loves cheese and "Cheese Heads."  This particular cheese head is my grandson from Des Moines.  He has the greatest sense of humor.  It won't be long before we get to see him again.

Marcella Gilliland knows that everyone who has grand children thinks they have the best ones but just check these adorable grand kids out.  How could you not agree that they are by far the cutest kids ever?  My littlest guy is not in this picture, probably because he was not born yet.  You will all get to see him tomorrow.

Marcella Gilliland and her Family Love the Red Zone

Every football Sunday after church you will find Marcella Gilliland and her family in the TV room watching the Red Zone. It's the greatest thing. The best part is the recap at the end of the show where you get to watch every NFL touchdown of the day. Yesterday there were fifty (yes, fifty) touchdowns and each one was awesome, especially the interception touchtowns and there were quite a few of those too. We enjoyed the day with our friend Jack, Kevin and Gwen, Saphren, Dylan and Bill.

Marcella Gilliland Loves the Rays!

Marcella Gilliland and her family love the  Tampa Rays even though they just missed the playoffs.  We always had a great time at the ol' ball game.  Here we are with our grand children enjoying a game.  Next year we will make those playoffs.  GO RAYS!!

Marcella Gilliland Assists Families Needing Area food Bank

With the economy still in a slump more and more families are needing assistance obtaining groceries.  Marcella Gilliland is determined to help some of these families by getting food from the Sarasota food bank and distributing it to the families in need that are sisned up for assistance thru the Church of Hope.  For those of us who are able, please donate generously to your local food bank.

Marcella Gilliland's Upcoming Mission Trip

 

Marcella Gilliland is joining the Church of Hope and the Convoy of Hope on a mission trip to Pulaski, TN.  We hope to supply the children of this community with new tennis shoes.  Our goal is to give them all a warm meal, groceries, do family photos and offer all who are interested haircuts.  Of course, there will be lots of prayer for these families and lots of love shared.

A little while ago 2 dozen beautiful roses were deliverd to Marcella Gilliland in Sarasota Florida.
The aroma is breath taking,  The flowers were a very thoughtful gift from her Iowa children and grand children.  They are so much appreciated. 

Marcella Gilliland is taking a Facebook class

Today I started a Facebook class for business.  There is so much to learn in just a short time.  Good intructor though.  We are starting to have beautiful Sarasota FL weather.  The nights are already starting to cool down.  Won't be long before we will be singing "Jingle Bells."  Marcella Gilliland is still loving life.
