Marcella Gilliland Takes Her Family to the Big Cat Habitat
Marcella Gilliland had the pleasure of taking her Mother, Esther and her friend, Duane to the Big Cat Habitat that is located just east of I75 off of Fruitville Road in Sarasota, FL. Marcella Gilliland also took her two grand children, Saphren and Garrett. The Big Cat Habitat was a huge surprise to all of us. Even though we all knew it had been in Sarasota for many years none of the family had ever been there before. They had all expected to see a couple of tigers and maybe a lion or two but what they found was much more than that. There was a large tent set up for training sessions open to the public. It was actually a mini circus. It was totally awesome because as the big cat trainer was with the animal the entire show was being narrated by the owner or the trainer. It was very informative and Marcella Gilliland and her family were impressed with the amount of knowledge they came away with. The big cats were so beautiful. There was a lion there that it to be believed to be the only one of its kind left in the world. Many different organizations are coming to the Big Cat Habitat for DNA samples to see if this can be proven. Theere were elephant rides and camel rides. We experienced an entire family of six riding the elephant at one time so you can imagine how large this animal was. We also saw peacocks, parrots, small animals, huge brown bears that were totally amazing, ostriches, goats to be petted and fed, pony and dog shows and on and on. Marcella Gilliland and her family had a great time and the weather was just perfect for the family visiting here from Iowa.

Marcella Gillilands Family Moves to Sarasota
Marcella Gilliland and Larry Gillilands daughter and her family have packed up their belongings and left the cold winter tundra in Des Moines, Iowa and moved to paradise in sunny Sarasota, Florida. It was not an easy move to make, however. The entire family consisting of daughter, Stacy and her husband, Rod and their two children, Brynn and Alec have all spent their entire lives in Iowa surrounded by family and friends. They have been blessed with good jobs and employers and great co-workers. It was hard for Marcella Gillilands family to move their children away from the grand parents in Manchester, Iowa. Stacy is fortunate to have both her mother and father living in Florida. Stacy's mom lives in the panhandle and Larry and Marcella Gilliland have been living in Sarasota since 1989. Marcella Gillilands family arrived in Sarasota on New Year's Eve about 8:00 PM. Marcella Gillilands husband, Larry had flown to Iowa and drove down with them to Sarasota. It was a long haul as they rove a moving van towing a vehicle and then drove another car towing a trailer with a motorcycle on it. They took their time driving and spent two nights in hotels along the way. Marcella Gilliland is very happy to have her family in Sarasota and feels extremely blessed. Ever since Marcella Gillilands family has been here they have spent lots of time hanging out and just being together. There was an awesome super bowl party at Stacy and Rod's house last Sunday. Kevin and Gwenn, Larry and Marcella Gilliland, Jack and Lucy, Sherri and Donny, Brynn, Alec, Saphren and Garrett were all there. Stacy fixed the best Super Bowl snacks and Donny cooked ribs, brisket and a turkey on the smoker. Yummy!!! The food was all amazing! No one really cared who won the Super Bowl so there were no fights going on. It is so great to have the family together. It makes Marcella Gilliland very happy.

Marcella Gilliland s Mom Celebrates her 85th Birthday in Sarasota
Can you believe this woman is 85 years old? This beautiful person is Marcella Gilliland's Mother who just celebrated her 85th birthday with her and her family in Sarasota, Florida. She and her friend, Duane spent the past two and one half weeks with them and were busy doing lots of different things. The whold Florida family got together to go out on the Marina Jack LeBarge Boat. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable time. We saw many beautiful homes that makes one wonder where does all this money come from that lines the coastline and bay of Sarasota County? It was one multi million dollar home after another. Breath taking to say the least.
Marcella Gilliland's family also spent lots of time together cooking out and having the family over for conversation and sometimes a drink or two. They played Mexican train, cribbage, five crowns and other card games. Saphren, the grand daughter of Marcella Gilliland gave Great Grandma Canfield rides on the newly won $6,000 golf cart. The weather was beautiful and time was spent walking the beach and reading outside to catch a few rays.
Today Marcella Gilliland's Mother and her friend flew back home to Iowa. They were going back to a huge ice storm and there was much concern whether the plane would leave the St Petersburg airport or not. All was well and they plane arrived in Cedar Rapids on a de-iced run way.
Marcella Gilliland plans to visit her family in Iowa in May when her niece is getting married. At least there won't be an ice storm.

Marcella Gilliland leaves Ft Lauderdale Car Auction
Yesterday's car auction was good for us buying cars. We bid on several that we would liked to have but only got away with two good deals. We ended up purchasing two cars outside of the auction after the vehicles had crossed the block and not brought enough money for the seller to let them go. It was not a good auction for us to sell our cars at. First of all, we thought we had good numbers but they ended up being too late in the day and most of the buyers had already left for the day. Our first vehicle crossed the auction block about five o'clock and the last car didn't go up for auction until about 6:45PM. Way too late to bring any good money. Marcella Gilliland and her friends got up early this morning and got back to the auction early to find a transporter to bring the cars that did not sell back from the auction to Sarasota. We were lucky to find a transport that can carry them in an enclosed environment. That keeps them a lot cleaner and safe from dirt and rock chips. The two cars that Marcella Gilliland purchased were both camaros. One is a 1971 and the other is a 1974. You will soon see them on our website for sale.

Happy New Year from Marcella Gilliland
Marcella Gilliland wants to take this time to say Happy New Year to all of her friends, family, customers and readers. It has been a good year for the family. Everyone is healthy in Marcella Gilliland's family and that is the most important thing you could wish for. Marcella Gilliland's mother lives in Denver, Iowa and will be eighty-five this year. In a few days she and her friend will be flying to Sarasota to spend some time with Marcella Gilliland. Marcella Gilliland is busting her butt trying to figure out something special to do for her mother's birthday. Marcella Gilliland will probably invite all the family over that lives in Sarasota and have a big cookout. Maybe her son-in-law, Donny will put some meat on the cooker. He is an awesome chef. Donny does a lot of the cooking for family events and for track days with his motorcycle group. Anyway, back to the original point of This blog and that was to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. Marcella Gilliland hopes everyone will be blesses in 2013 with good health, prosperity and good relationships.
Christmas vacation is almost over
Christmas vacation is almost over and it is time for the grand children to get back to school. Saphren, Marcella Gilliland's twelve year old grand daughter has spent a lot of her vacation time with her grand mother. Saphren was a huge asset helping out at the car dealership by updating files for the new year and cleaning up all kinds of vendor and customer lists on the computer. Saphren helped Marcella Gilliland by making the daily deposit and doing a lot of filing of accounts payable invoices. She also helped lay fifty bags of mulch at her aunt and uncles house in Sarasota. It was a brand new rental house for them and Saphren helped by cleaning it and shopping for a few groceries to put in the house before her aunt and uncle moved here from Des
Moines, Iowa on New Years's Eve. Saphren is a sixth grader in middle school this year. She takes piano lessons and does cross stitch with Marcy Gilliland. She is so much help to her grandparents with their car business in Sarasota.
Marcella Gilliland is at the Ft Lauderdale car auction
Marcella Gilliland has five vehicles coming across the auction block this afternoon. The auction is a three day event that is held in the old War Memorial Auditorium in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. All five vehicles should be selling today around two or three o'clock when the auction is at a fever pitch and selling should be the best. A 1970 gold Pontiac Judge will be the first od her cars to go up for auction. It will be followed by a 1963 Chevrolet corvette, 1968 Chevrolet corvette, 1969 Chevrolet camaro Z28 and the most beautiful 1983 Cream/black Excalibur. All of these vehicles have numbers matching and all have actual miles. They are the cream of the crop, so nice that the auction company has them placed in the primo spot at the auction, under the front tent. If everything goes as planned Marcella Gilliland plans to pick up a few good buys today. Trucks, mostly pickups in the 1960's are really good sellers right now. With the economy being in a slump it seems that more and more people everyday are taking money out of the stock market and putting it in the old classic antique and collectible cars. Today will be a great day.
